We are stoked over here! Our company will be participating in this year’s RECon in Las Vegas, baby! And hopefully what happens there won’t stay there, in this case. We anticipate returning with piles of inspiration and information that will fuel us in the months to come.
The convention is sponsored by the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC), which has over 65,000 members globally. Since 1957, it’s been a leader in the industry, providing access to education and networking to promote the role of shopping centers in the economy.
RECon is an incredible event that attracts over 30,000 attendees from the retail real estate field. Their site says that you can “do a year’s worth of business in just three days” there, and they’re not kidding! A lot of networking and deal making goes on at RECon, and we’ll also get a look at new products and services for the industry at over 1000 exhibits.
A list of attendees is now available, so contacts are already being made in preparation for the big weekend, May 17-20. Even if you can’t attend, check in with #RECon15 on Twitter. Sponsors for the conference include some big names: Cushman and Wakefield, Path Intelligence, Stark Enterprises, Meridian Capital, Wells Fargo, and many more.
The program is packed, and we’re excited about the speakers who’ll be there – from Denver quarterback Peyton Manning in the Opening Session to the closing keynote from Michael R. Francis of DreamWorks Animation. Industry experts will get together to discuss the near future of retail real estate at the Envision 2020 event on Tuesday morning. We expect their analysis of industry trends and project examples to be right on target and a critical tool for planning.
Beyond that, there are dozens of sessions planned on topics that matter in commercial real estate: negotiation skills, customer experience, using social networks, redeveloping property, asset management – presented by industry leaders.
The venue for the conference is the Las Vegas Convention Center, with some events in the adjacent Westgate Hotel. This is an excellent space for accommodating this massive event. We’ll be spending most of our time in the exhibit hall.
We’ll be at booth N1519, and look forward to talking with everyone about challenges they face in managing their commercial real estate business efficiently. We expect to learn a tremendous amount about issues that we can help our clients to address through our platform.
Exhibits will encompass every imaginable aspect of the industry, from finance to property management to marketing, technology, and project development. If there’s something you need to get done in commercial real estate, the people who can help you do it will be at RECon. We’re looking forward to seeing old friends and making a boatload of new contacts and associations at this high-energy gathering.
Take a look at the conference site for more details, and make plans to attend! This is one weekend that could boost your business and inform your decision making for years to come.
